What’s inside

Flag recognition is a pure visual-memory task, which makes it ideal flashcard material. There is no reasoning your way to the answer; you either know the three-color triband with the eagle or you don't. Spaced repetition sorts the world quickly. Japan and Canada retire after a review or two, and your daily stack fills up with the genuinely confusable clusters: the red-white-red triads, the Nordic crosses, the West African tricolors that differ only in stripe order.

Coverage goes past the UN member list to the territories a quiz will actually throw at you: Greenland, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong. Two hundred and three cards sounds like a mountain, but at the default pace of ten new cards a day it's a steady three-week climb, and the app only ever deals you what's due.

Sample cards

Every front is a full-color flag image; the back is the country or territory name.

Who it’s for

Geography-quiz players, and anyone who watches an Olympics opening ceremony wanting to name every delegation. It also works for kids, since the front of a card has nothing to read.

Source and accuracy

Flag artwork comes from the public-domain country-flags collection and is rasterized at card resolution. Names and coverage follow the world set used by LearnStuff's geography quiz. Full details are in the library's attribution notice.

One tap away.

The deck is free and yours to edit once it’s on your phone. Flickdeck itself is a one-time $3.99. No subscription, ever.
