Multiplication facts flashcards for iPhone

Every multiplication fact from 2 × 2 to 12 × 12, with each pair appearing once: 66 cards instead of 121, because a child who knows 7 × 8 shouldn't be quizzed separately on 8 × 7.

What’s inside

The front shows the bare problem and the back shows the answer. There are no pictures and no timer, deliberately; the goal is quiet recall rather than racing. With spaced repetition, a kid who has the twos and fives down cold stops seeing them almost immediately, and reviews concentrate on the sixes, sevens, and eights where the real work is. A daily sitting is typically a handful of cards rather than a 66-card gauntlet.

Parents reviewing alongside: the deck is honest for adults too. Most of us have three or four facts we've quietly worked around since childhood.

Who it’s for

Kids in the times-table years, roughly second through fifth grade, and any adult who never quite nailed the sevens. An adult should set up the deck for a child and sit in on the early reviews; the app itself has hardly any reading in it.

Getting it onto your iPhone

Tap the download button on this page in Safari, open the download (the ↓ button by the address bar), and tap the file; it imports into Flickdeck as a new deck with every card unstudied. From a Mac or PC, download it and AirDrop it to your iPhone. The deck library page has the full walkthrough, and the app itself is coming to the App Store.

Source and accuracy

Arithmetic. The only editorial decisions are the range (2 through 12, the standard school target) and collapsing commutative pairs so practice time isn't doubled for nothing.

One tap away.

The deck is free and yours to edit once it’s on your phone. Flickdeck itself is a one-time $3.99. No subscription, ever.
